Today is the Day I Had Ella

33 weeks 5 days

If we do the c/s on Friday, I'm hoping that those 2 extra days will make a huge difference, and we will have an easier time and shorter stay in the NICU.

  1. Thinking of you! Logan was 34w, 1d. She spent 13 days in the NICU, but was only sleepy, that was it-totally healthy in every other way. Just hold on a few more days, but Monday would be great!!! :)

  2. Shoot I thought you told me it was only 5 days...but 13 days with no complications would be fine too! I just don't want all the issues we had with Ella!

  3. Yeah, 13 days. It wasn't great, but at least we knew she was fine, just tired. Do you like the Hoag NICU? Once he's out, you could always ask to transfer to CHOC at Orange or Mission. Not exactly close, but I don't know if Hoag is that much better in terms of distance. We really liked CHOC at Mission and the nurses are so good!

  4. Oh, but you were also probably thinking of someone I know who had a 34 weeker who went home after five days. I actually know someone else who had a 34 weeker who went home after three days. So it's definitely possible!

  5. Yes, I LOVE the NICU at Hoag. CHOC is a lot closer and obviously a wonderful facility, but I would never want to switch her out of Hoag. I feel like one of the doctors there saved her life when we had the problem at the beginning. And I adore all the NICU nurses there- I've been texting with our NICU nurse from when Ella was there, and she is going to be in the OR when I deliver this time too. :)

  7. Sorry I've missed so much!! :( Thinking of you and hoping all works out for the best. I think that either way, knowing what to expect with a preemie will make it easier this time, and you've already gotten the steroid shots, too, so baby boy is likely a little better prepared, too.

    Sending you good thoughts galore!!

  9. I've been following you over on CC and wanted to let you know I'm rooting for you and your little one. My little boy was born at 34 weeks on the nose and went home with me. He was small, 4 9 when we left, but healthy. Hoping you all have it easier this time around.
