Teacher's Pet

I had some leftover royal icing so Ella picked out an apple cookie cutter and I made more cookies!  I'm not sure what we'll do with a bunch of apple shaped cookies except maybe give them to Ella's teachers? ;)

Brett and Brice came to visit today, and Ella had SO much fun!

And  Auntie Katie hooked us up with a bunch of "boy toys"!  Yay!

Speaking of "boy things", note to self: buy some boy plates...Brett was not happy with the pink girly plates we have- who can blame him?!

Crayon Clutch...New Item?

I made this for Ella because she is forever asking to draw at random times...like in the middle of Target, so I needed something very compact (but of course cute too!) to throw in my bag.  I'm thinking of listing them in my Etsy store.

This is just to show how thin it is!

Here is the prototype...I had to adjust my pattern to make it shorter and move the notepad holder part to the other side...

Everett's New Outfit

So as to not exclude Everett from all the sewing and costume projects, I whipped up a tiny pant pattern and made him pants and a matching shirt. He is 12 weeks old today! I'll wait for 3 months to do his update though. :)

My Smiley Boy (11w 6d)

I caught it on camera!  We thought he started smiling just before 10 weeks old, but it was hard to tell because it would only be once or twice a day and very fleeting.  Yesterday he smiled at Julie so I knew he must *really* be smiling, but today I'm sure.  He has been SO smiley today!  And for the first time, he smiled when he saw me after I had been in the other room. :)  It's amazing how a smile makes it all worth it.

Craft Day 2012- Snow White Inspired

Julie and I had "Craft Day 2012", which turned into Errand Day 2012.  However, we still got one project completed- Snow White inspired costumes for the girls.

I've had a photo saved on my computer forever of a costume I wanted to make for Ella, but I've been waiting to do it since Ella isn't into dressing up or princesses yet.  She still isn't into them, and she clearly did not love wearing this costume, but at least Olivia loves the one Julie made for her!  We also got the supplies to make Cinderella, the Queen of Hearts and Alice in Wonderland.  I'm making Alice next just because *I* love her...must find a way to get Ella into Alice in Wonderland. ;)

I also may be making mini doll sized tutus to match since Ella has informed me that Raggedy Ann needs a matching dress.  Have I mentioned that Ella is obsessed with Raggedy Ann and Andy?  She is so old school!  She puts them in time-out, feeds them, puts them down for naps and does Ring Around the Rosie with them.

As I was typing this, Ella insisted that I "take a picture of everyone"...

Weekend Fun

Ella went to ballet on Wednesday AND Saturday this week, and she walked right in and did both classes all by herself while I stood outside and watched through the glass!  Yay!!  Watching a bunch of 2 and 3 olds do ballet is just about the cutest thing in the entire world.  I may need to have another girl.

After dance, Ella had a BLAST at her godsisters' daddy's 40th birthday party!  She and Olivia were bounce house fools...

Even after pajamas were on...

How cute are they?

The next day the whole fam when to the zoo where Ella rode the train with daddy and the carousel with mommy...

And then we all went to Aviela's house for dinner, where the girls put on a "show" for us. ;)

We finished off the weekend with dinner at grandma and grandpa's house.

You can't tell in the photos, but the lines in the fabric above are actually the pinky/lavender color shown in this fabric...

I don't think I'm going to sell this pattern with the inverted pleats down the front, but I wanted to make one for Ella. :)

Everett at 10 Weeks

Everett had his 10 week appointment today (although he is actually 10w5d today).  He is 4w4d adjusted.  He is only in the 2nd to 3rd percentile actual for height and weight, but about the 50th percentile adjusted.  He is 9 pounds and 21 inches.  Ella was 8.5 pounds and 21 inches at her 10 week appointment so they are very close in size!  Hopefully Everett stays as tall as Ella because she is going to be super tall, and I don't want him to get a complex!  His head is enormous- the 90th percentile!!  It's so weird because Ella has and always had a pretty small head- I think it was usually in the 40th-ish percentile.

He's up to 3 oz. per bottle, but I can't get him to go longer than 3 hours between feedings still during the day!  The ped said this is good because he's stocking up during the day so he can go longer at night, and he encouraged me to stay on the 3 hour daytime schedule.  He still goes from 10:30 p.m. to 3 or 4 a.m., but last night he went until 4:40 a.m.!

He makes tons of eye contact and tracks like a champ, but he's still not smiley.  We *think* he started smiling this week (just before 10 weeks), but it's hard to tell because it's very infrequent.  He did seem to give Ella a BIG smile last night (aww, the mutual love), and I think he gave me a few smiles this morning so maybe we are going to start getting them more often soon!

He is still SUCH a good baby.  Loves to be held.  I think he's going to be much more affectionate then Ella was because he makes tons more eye contact and always wants to be held, whereas Ella could not care less if you were holding her or not!

Look at how well I can sit up!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ok so it's not V-Day yet, but Ella had her Valentine's Day party today so it's V-Day to us!  I planned on Ella wearing her red corduroy pants, but she wanted to wear her V-Day tutu from last year...
