Mucho Casual

Not a lot of effort going on around here lately because I've either been home working, home with the kids or just running out for quick errands, but at least I wasn't in yoga pants, right?  Right?!

A Morning in the Life of E2

It was GORGEOUS this morning!  73 degrees and not a cloud in the sky...perfect day for a morning outside!  After a nice long walk, we hit the park.

Let's try to make some new friends...

Time to swing!

Let's play house in the backyard...

Apparently Everett knows how to get up the slide by himself now...

But hasn't quite figured out how go down properly...

Time to rest...

Hey, I can do it too!

It's so nice out, let's have lunch outside!

This is Ella's "pose" pretending to take a bite...

Clothes...

So this is the outfit I wore the day after the last all black outfit...I realized I need some color in my life!

Yesterday I wore my new mint and black work shirt, which I love, but I'm having a really hard time accessorizing it because there is so much going on with the shirt- nothing looks good with it!

But I actually had to leave the house like this because I had court, which covered it all up!

Happenings...

Everett loves Ella's playhouse...

Ella still never, ever, ever stops touching Everett and loves to feed him...

Ella loves olives, but we're not sure if she actually likes eating them...

Ella LOVES pushing the mini shopping carts at Trader Joes, and we recently learned that Everett does too!

The kids just started being able to have breakfast together at their little table...

Ella had her final soccer class and got a certificate!

And Ella and I visited newborn twins Ruby and David, who are SO cute!  Ella was in heaven...she got to play with her friend Ava, she got to be around TWO babies, AND she got to hold Ruby!  This girl is going to be a very good mama- she is OBSESSED with babies!

Good Target Finds

I just have to say that I ran into Target yesterday to pick up some Pedialyte and somehow ended up buying two bags of clothes for myself, Ella and Everett!  They have some really cute tops right now in case anyone is interested.  Also, 70% off a bunch of cute jewelry.  Also, a bunch of kids clothes on sale.  Here is the first sweater I got for casual kid days...I love it!  It's even cuter in person (it's a large-ish weave, and the ends of the arms and collar are a twisted t-shirt material)...

I know I'm trying to get away from wearing yoga pants, but in my defense, (a) I literally did not leave the house today except to go running so I was sitting on my bed in a robe working all day long; (b) it was raining today (hence the rubber thongs- my official rain footwear); and (c) I was only going to pick up the kids and then back home so I wasn't going to get all dressed and jewelry-ed up for that. ;)

What a Weekend!

First we had soccer, which is always kind of a disaster because about 10 minutes into the hour long class, Ella is over it.  And I can't say I blame her because soccer is boooooooring.  We have one more class, and then we get to start ballet again- yippee!!!  We both have a lot more fun at ballet. :)

I think Everett may be more of the soccer star...he was dribbling the ball all over the place!  Ella will barely dribble NOW, and she definitely wouldn't have done it at 14 months!

Then we went to a little post-Valentine's Day get together, but of course I only remembered to take photos right when we got there so I missed getting a pick of all 8 kids together- bummer!

The next day we were just pulling into the Spectrum to meet up with friends, when Ella started whining, "mommy!"  I turn around and tears are running down her face.  I ask her what's wrong, and she says, "I PUT A CHEERIO IN MY NOSE."  That's right, she got a cheerio stuck up her nose right as we are about to park.  First of all, what almost 3.5 year old even does that?!  I mean if it was Everett, I could kind of understand, but Ella knows better, and it's so unlike her to do something like that!

Gary decides we need to go to the ER, and Ella starts crying hysterically that she wants to see Hannah and doesn't want to go home.  So I figure we should at least try to get it out ourselves so we bought some tweezers (btw, I will now keep tweezers in my purse at all times).  And here is where all those years of playing the game Operation paid off...I got the cheerio out on my first try!  I should be a surgeon. ;)  So the day was saved, and Ella was super happy that she still got to play with Hannah.

But then, we went to dinner at Great Maple with my parents.  It's not super fancy, but it is a nicer restaurant.  All of sudden, Everett starts full on Exorcist projectile vomiting all over himself and the floor.  Seriously, like everything he has eaten all day.  It's EVERYWHERE.  The beyotch old lady across from us has her mouth dropped open and starts rolling her eyes (geez, so sorry my baby dare vomit in your presence- it was totally on purpose you old bat).  I get it if the kids were yelling or misbehaving, but they were both perfectly quiet and well-behaved...even as he was vomiting, Everett didn't cry or yell!

And of course, I had literally NOTHING with me.  Not a onesie, an extra shirt, NOTHING.  We have to strip Everett because his outfit was completely soaking wet, so now I'm holding a naked baby in the middle of this nice-ish restaurant (and we were at the very middle table).  My mom had to run to Nordstrom to purchase some pjs for him, and of course to top off the night, the cheapest plain cotton pjs at Nordstrom were $35.  Really?  UGH!  At least the waiter and poor guy who had to mop up the gallons of vomit were super nice about it, as I was profusely apologizing, as was the lady sitting next to us, who also had a baby and understood our predicament.

Needless to say, although we had some fun moments, it definitely wasn't our best weekend!

Here are a few outfits from last week...

Valentines

First, I have to mention another funny by Ella...

Me: Ella, you have really pretty hair.
Ella: [she turns and looks me right in the eye] I do, actually.
HA!  Modesty is not her strong suit.  And "actually" is her new favorite word...she uses it all the time and always appropriately!

For Valentine's Day, I did these for Everett's class...

 These for Ella's class...

And these for non-school friends...

School Photos

They're baaaaaaaack...

I swear, these things crack me up!  The one with the hand under the chin is so funny that I had to order a package of those!!  But doesn't she look like a little girl instead of a toddler?  Boo. :(

I talked to her about 800 times before photo day about smiling this year for her photos so we didn't have a repeat of last year!

I think photo 2 is my favorite photo of all time- she is so mad dogging the photographer!

Sick Outfit

Even though I'm STILL sick, I had to go to work today.  I figured pajamas aren't appropriate for a deposition so this is all I could muster...

I'm not sure how well the blazer shows up, but it's a new one I picked up at H&M recently- in case anyone is looking for a blazer, it was only $30!

Checking In...

The lack of posting lately is due to the fact that I have been SO SICK for SIX days straight, and I'm starting to believe that this "cold" will never go away...I'm tired of feeling like my head is going to explode and being completely weak/loopy all day long!

I did barely muster up enough energy tonight to cook dinner- it was delicious, and the recipe is on my cooking blog!

My Boo Boo Can Walk!

He's been taking steps since Christmas, but Everett is FINALLY walking!  He's been doing it for about the past 3 days...now we just need to get over the hump of the half crawling/ half walking stage, and my life will be SO much easier!  I LOVE when they can walk.
