Royal Blah-ness?

Well, what did you all think?
ETA: I have to say, now that I've watched about 250 royal wedding shows, the dress is growing on me!  She just looked so lovely!

Kate is obviously a very pretty girl, but honestly, I felt she looked a bit boring!  I do like the top part of her dress, but it's definitely not different...I think I tried on something similar.  I like that it's Grace Kelly-ish, but I liked Grace Kelly's dress better!  I'm not a fan at all of that type of skirt.  Do a princess skirt or a-line or mermaid or anything else but a circle skirt, which I find always looks droopy with heavy satin or silk.  Her hair was just "eh", and she did her own make-up!  Who does their own make-up on their wedding day?!  Finally, I did not like her bouquet.  And I love lilies of the valley, but for some reason, hers didn't look right to me with her dress...it may have been too small or too white since her dress was ivory, but I didn't care for it.

I thought her sister, Pippa, looked gorgeous!  I loved her dress!  Maybe a tad too sexy for a royal wedding, but she looked great.  I thought Kate's mom looked very pretty and appropriate, and the Queen looked adorable, even though I thought it was an odd color choice.  I loved the little flower girl dresses- that is exactly what I would have chosen had I had flower girls.

It got even more boring when she changed into her evening dress...
Again, she still looks so pretty, but really?  All the money in the world, and THAT is what you choose?  BLAH.  At least her sister again looked fun and sassy! ;)

Now, as for future royal weddings, do you think someone who wears her pajamas to play outside...

And gets more ravioli on her body than in her mouth can be a princess? :)

And this isn't a new fabric, but thanks to friends who have ordered different styles, I can show how this popular fabric looks in 3 different styles!

Preschool/Daycare

Gary's company provides 20 days of daycare per year, and with the nanny gone, we were really stuck this morning so we took her in for her first day ever of daycare (this is not where she will be going to preschool in July).  She was initially in the infant daycare room, but they moved her up to the preschool section...I'm sure it was because of her advanced art skills...her first art project ever!
I'm sure daddy will be very pleased that she chose to use Laker colors. ;)

They said she did great.  She started playing as soon as Gary set her down, and she did cry when he left but immediately stopped.  She must have had a great time because she had paint ALL OVER her NEW shirt.  Um, could someone have warned me they were going to paint so that I wouldn't have put her in a cute little outfit?  She was only there until noon today, but maybe next time we'll do all day!

Happy Easter 2011!

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
We had a really fun and busy and Easter Weekend this year!

We spent the day at grammy and pop-pop's house, and Ella was excited to have an Easter egg hunt with her cousins...

The next morning she woke up early to find that the Easter bunny left her a treat...

After church, we had brunch at Lucca, and Ella sat in a booster seat for the first time right next to daddy since they were out of high chairs (this will also be the last time for a while!) and checked out all the desserts with grandma...

Ella also found a little boy to run around outside with...

We went to grandma and grandpa's house where the Easter bunny left Ella another Easter basket, but her favorite thing of all was the super cute pink hippo chair that grandpa got her...

Then she decided it was about time for her fourth Easter egg hunt of the season!

She then graciously agreed to take a few photos in one of mama's new fabric combos. :)

Ella's cousins from Arizona came over to grandpa and grandma's house for dinner, which made Ella very happy, but I forgot to take any photos!!!

Need Advice! Dress Labels...

Since many of you have ordered dresses, I thought I'd post here for some advice regarding labels.  You will recall that my labels look like this...
Photobucket
I was initially going to sew the labels into the back of the dresses, however, since the peasant dresses and pillowcase dresses are essentially reversible, I decided not to in case you get a little stain on one side and wanted to wear that side on the back or something. However, I noticed that a lot of people put their labels on the front bottom corner of their clothing items, and it looks really cute!

So what do you think? Should I sew labels onto the front bottom corners of the dresses or not? It may make them look a bit more "professional", right? Feel free to email me or comment here with your opinions! Thanks!!!

Arizona Sun

We finally headed out to Arizona for a very quick trip so that Ella could meet her great-grandma (Gary's grandma) for the first time.  We were only there one full day so we were super busy, but we had a ton of fun.

Ella spent time with great-grandma and had fun with all her stuffed animals...

After visiting great-grandma, we went to dinner at one of my best college girlfriend's houses...we haven't seen each other in years, and it was so wonderful to see her and her beautiful family. I cannot wait to see them again very soon!!!

We had to leave the next morning, but first, we did an Easter egg hunt and brunch with my aunt and uncle so that Ella could play with her cousins. She had SO much fun playing with them...needless to say she did not want to leave!!

Can you see all those eggs? There were THREE sections that big!

Ella spent most of the time sitting in one spot trying to open the eggs, which were taped shut!

Back home we went to Logan's first birthday party- Ella had a blast playing with all her friends!
