Mother's Day 2012
GREAT weekend. We met at the park to play with Ella's new friends, Nathan and Cadence, then we had dinner at one of our favorite places, True Food Kitchen, with Everett's future girlfriend, Avery- she is adorable!!
Sunday morning I woke to a bed full of presents, but the best part was Ella running over to my side of the bed yelling, "happy mother's day mama!" and proudly handing me a piece of wrapping paper. I said, "is this for me?!", and she was so excited- "YES!"
One of the best gifts was Amy Atlas' new book Sweet Designs.
I feel like she and I are sort of soul sisters...we are both lawyers with a passion for sweets, baking, perfect parties and all things creative. The difference being that she is no longer lawyering, but rather, doing what she loves for a living! Oh, and the fact that she is much better at it than me. ;)
We went to brunch with my mama...
Where Ella and a the little girl sitting next us started a dance party...by the time we left, there were about 7 kids dancing!
We went to the Spectrum to do a little shopping and ride the carousel and then went to the pool. I ended the day by ditching the husband and kids for dinner and drinks with a friend (woo hoo!), and to top it off, I took not one, but TWO naps this weekend! Mother's Day should be every month. :)

Teacher Appreciation Week
This week is Teacher Appreciation week so I wanted to do something special for Ella's teachers since she loves them so much, and they love her so much. I didn't have a lot of time so I did a simple but cute cookie design (one pot for each of her 4 teachers)...

Family Frolic!
On Friday night, Ella's school had their annual "Family Frolic" and silent auction. It was so much fun!! I absolutely love her school...the teachers, the staff, the other parents, all the activities...LOVE.
Ella's favorite thing by far was the bounce house...
They had all kinds of fun games with prizes, shaved ice, a taco man...
Face painting and tattoos...
A fire truck and a police car came for the kids to explore...
Notice the photo of Kaitlyn and Ella in the back of the cop car...we're just hoping those two don't relive that moment in about 16 years! ;)
Such a great night!!!!

Blast from the Past
One of Ella's teachers gave me a bunch of photos of Ella from when she was in the infant room so I scanned them all and thought I'd post them for no other reason then she just looks so cute- so babyish...I miss that! I'm not sure when they were taken, but some time between 18 months and 2 years old.
Check out how blonde her hair was...it's so much darker now!

Dresses- what do you think?
First, I made these two dresses for an Etsy order, which I think turned out adorable! I'm loving the orange/cream floral with the short sleeves...
I saw this fabric on sale, and I fell in love with it so I bought it to make a dress for Ella, even though the fabric is a silky feeling polyester as opposed to the soft cotton. I absolutely LOVE it. It looks so cute on her too. I'm thinking of listing it on Etsy, but do you think that type of fabric would sell?
And what do you think of this fabric? It's different- both the color combo and the pattern. I guess I could list it and see what happens...

5 Months Old- Everett
Everett is 5 months old today! He's happy, smiley, high maintenance and a little love bug. He eats 4-5 oz. every 4ish hours. Dream feeds at 10-10:30 p.m. and wakes once a night (sometimes twice) to eat. I think he's *finally* moved up to a size 3-6 month in sleepers! But still in a 0-3 month in everything else, and in pants, even 0-3 falls off him because he's so skinny!
He only rolls when he wants to (from front to back), which isn't too often, and he still hasn't rolled from back to front. He can almost sit up unassisted for a few seconds.
We think he weighs about 14 pounds (Ella also weighed 14lbs at 5 months).
