Easter Eggs!

It's Easter egg day!  Ella had her friends Kaitlyn and Reese over to dye Easter eggs...

She was very excited about this...

Then it was time to put stickers on the eggs, which didn't work very well since we waited about 1 minute for the eggs to dry!

I had to post this photo because it captures the quintessential "Reese" face...I LOVE it!

We discovered that dying eggs does not take nearly long enough (we need time consuming activities!), and it's way too messy so we decided that we will give them styrofoam eggs and paint next year! ;)

Easter Bunny

This is the "cute" photo of my calm child.

Here is what happened when we tried to get Ella in the photo...
She wouldn't let grandma put her down!  Needless to say, she is not a fan of the Easter Bunny.  Or Santa.  Or anything dressed up.  Looks like we won't be getting any holiday photos in the next few years!

She was sort of willing to pose by the flowers...

And, we put Everett in the exersaucer (i.e. "ring of child neglect") today for the first time, and he loved it!  YEAH!

Everett 4 Month Ped Visit & Ella Sleeping...

Stats at 4 Months...
  • Weight 11.11 lbs : 25th percentile adjusted, but less than 5th percentile actual- he's tiny! (Ella was 12.4lbs)
  • Height 24.25" : 75th percentile adjusted, about 25th percentile actual (Ella was 23.5")
  • Head Circ. 41.5" : 95th percentile for both adjusted and actual- giant! (Ella was 39.5")
So the verdict is that this kid is going to be TALL and skinny.  I can't believe he weighs less then Ella did but is almost an inch taller!  Ella is now in the 90-95th percentile for height so Everett may be off the charts when he's her age...does anyone know a toddler basketball coach? ;)

Ella Sleeping

Two nights ago, we tried Ella's big girl bed again.  She cried/screamed and got of bed twice before Gary stood at her door and held it shut (since we didn't have a lock on it yet).  It was painful listening to her cry, but she only tried the door two more times and each time she couldn't get out, she crawled right back into bed!  No playing in her room, no crawling on the furniture, nothing!  Then she eventually fell asleep!

Yesterday, I put her down for her nap, she cried but immediately stopped the second I walked out the door and didn't get out of bed once!  Last night, she did not even cry when I left the room!  And once again did not get out of bed. :)

I wish we would have just kept trying the first time we switched her.  I think we were just so shocked that it was even slightly difficult since she has always been easy and a textbook sleeper that we didn't know what to do!  Now, looking back at it, this transition was easy too.  It just *seemed* harder then when we sleep trained her as a baby because as a baby she could only cry- not get out of bed!

    Everett Rolls Over!

We were wondering when Everett would roll over since Ella did it 6 days before she was 4 months old (and yes, I know you are not supposed to compare kids), and he did it today!  4 months and 1 day old.  I actually think he would have done it much sooner if we ever did tummy time.  Poor second child! ;)

    Swim Lessons

Ella had her first swim lesson this weekend, and as you can see, it didn't go so well...she was ATTACHED to Gary!  We thought it would go great because she loved the pool last summer, but we haven't been to the pool once since summer/early fall.

Nevertheless, she did let Miss Tara take her to float on her back...

And even walked on the mat and jumped off to daddy...

    Four Months Old- Everett

Time is FLYING!  I can't believe E is already 4 months old.  He is such a good baby.  Really really good.  When we are out, he rarely makes a peep...he just sleeps or smiles at me. :)  He is SO smiley- much more so than Ella.  You just say hi to him, and he gives a giant smile and maybe even a little laugh.

He is wearing a size 0-3 months, but some are still big on him.  He wears a 1 or 1-2 diaper.  He weighs about 12.5 pounds.  He eats 4 oz. bottles approximately every 4 hours except over night.  At night he sleeps 7 or 7:30 p.m. to  anywhere between 3:30 and 6:00 a.m. (with a dream feed at 10:30 p.m.).

He gets very excited, kicks, smiles...

And he has the cutest little feet...

Ella adores him more than anything in the world...

I didn't realize Ella was so much chubbier than Everett!  He must be really skinny because she was never very chubby.  She was the same weight as him so he must be taller...oh, and his head is much bigger too so that might account for the weight!

    Easter Playdate!

We had our Easter playdate with Ella's besties this morning, and she had a blast!

The Easter Egg Hunt was hilarious.  Ella was CHARGING to pick up eggs, and then she made up a song..."pick 'em up! pick 'em up! pick 'em up!"

Then it's time to check out our haul...

This is what we call a "Sydney Sandwich"... She's so cute, you just want to eat her up!

And of course the day would not be complete without a round of Ring Around the Rosey...

Molly always does such a great job decorating, including utensils wrapped in a "carrot" (this was from Pinterest, but her version is much cuter)...

And of course, what holiday would be complete without my cookies?! ;)
