This weekend we went to Sophie's 4th birthday party at My Gym...Ella was a little intimidated and overwhelmed and pretty much wanted to stay put on my lap, but she was excited to see her friends (Grace and Ethan are in this photo)! Paige was there too in the back of this photo!

Ella Hates the Pool
Our friends had a pool party/bbq this weekend, and despite the fact that all her friends were having a great time splashing around in the baby pool, Ella wanted none of it. What the heck happened since last summer when she loved the pool?! Looks like we have some unpleasant pool visits in our future.
I made a pattern for a baby maxi dress...they are so trendy for summer, why shouldn't the babes have one too? ;) This is the prototype so it may vary slightly when I make it for good (for example, I'm going to move the straps in more), but I think it's pretty cute!

And the Award for Best Sick Baby Goes to...
Ella Rose!
Despite the day we had yesterday, Ella actually slept through the night last night!!! Have you ever heard of a vomiting child with a 104 fever who STTN?! Unfortunately, she may as well have woken up 200 times because I did not sleep for even 2 minutes because I was worrying about her and checking on her (I probably would have worried less if we would have checked her temp throughout the night, but I didn't want to wake her up!).Anyway, here are some photos of Miss E at her water table on Friday afternoon before that nasty virus attacked...

Ella's First Virus/Fever?? (And Photo Drop)
First, I forgot to post some new photos of Ella wearing some of the goods...no new items, just some cute pics of E. :)
Second, I *think* Ella had her first virus...FINALLY! She was perfectly fine all week, and then Saturday morning, she felt a bit hot, and had a low grade fever. By 10 a.m., the readings were up to 106 degrees (but mostly in the 104's), so I rushed home from brunch and called the doctor. The doctor said not to worry because babies' immune systems do often give really high temps, even for simple colds, and we just needed to watch her behavior. We gave her some Motrin and cuddled with her (you know she doesn't feel well when she's super cuddly...she laid on my chest for 40 minutes!). The weird thing is, within about 6 hours, her temp was back to normal! She never had any other symptom. Strange. I'm still counting it as her first sickness since I really want her to get sick before preschool starts! I guess 19 months is pretty good for not being sick once. :)
Update: Ella's fever was completely gone Sunday morning, but it slowly crept back up to 104.1! We cannot seem to get it to go away. We're trying not to give her Mortin for a while so that maybe the fever will break, but I'm a little concerned about it getting too high since it's already at 104.1. She won't let us put a cold/room temp wash cloth on her face so we have one on her neck while she sleeps on Gary's chest. She feels just HORRIBLE! She keeps moaning and whimpering. :(
Update #2: Bottle at 7:30...vomited it all. Put her to bed around 8 p.m. About 9 p.m. she vomited all over herself and her crib. As we were changing the crib, she vomited again all over the floor. It's going to be a loooong night.

Mother's Day 2011
I forgot to post about Mother's Day because I didn't take any photos, but it was a nice day! We went to church, I went shopping while Ella napped (alone- pure joy), and then we went to a late lunch at Beachcomber.
My Question is, do you take your young toddler to church, and if so, how do you do it?! There were 4 of us to tag team her, but it was still near impossible. She didn't want to be held by any of us, which meant she was either walking along the pew waving and saying "HI!" to everyone behind us, tapping the people in front of us on the back to say "hi!", spilling goldfish all over the floor or on the pew in front of us, or trying to escape out the pew and up the aisle, making sure to wave and smile at all the people as she walked by. No joke, perfect strangers were taking care of my child! The people next to us followed her up the aisle to bring her back for us, some lady behind us held her for 20 minutes, and the about 8 year old girl (who happened to be named Ella Grace!) sitting next to us tried to keep her occupied with books. If not for the kindness and assistance of complete strangers, I would have gone mad! The best part is that while I wanted to shrink down in my seat thinking her antics were completely inappropriate distractions during mass, a man sitting about 3 rows behind us came up to me after mass and said, "you have the most MARVELOUS daughter!". Um, ok. It's true, she never screamed or whined and was being very social, but there is a time and place for that, and it's not during mass! If anyone has tips, please let me know!!!!

A New Design...the ROMPER/JUMPSUIT!
I have become obsessed with little rompers for Ella so I created a pattern (I've only done the 18-24 month size so far, but I'm going to do 6-12 months to 2 or 3T). I think it turned out so cute!
I made one more dress in an adorable fabric that I only had a bit of so if anyone is interested in this dress before I list it, I only have 2, and there won't be anymore...sizes 12-18 months and 18-24 months. I've also decided (I think!) to place the labels on the back of the dresses as shown in the 2nd photo. I tried it on the bottom front corner, and it didn't look right on some of the dresses.

FYI...
This is the look Ella rocked at Target yesterday...
Pink flowered dress and shoes, pink ray bans, daddy's OC Marathon medal and a green & blue sippy cup. Luckily, after a bit of a fight, we were able to remove the medal and leave it in the car before entering the restaurant for dinner with friends! I just need to work on finding sippy cups that match her outfits. ;)
Here are a few more dresses I whipped up this weekend...
